Who am I?
Hi! I'm Emily Quickel, and I'm excited to help you explore your next step toward earning your degree. As a counselor at UMW, I work closely with transfer students to review credits, find the right academic fit, and create a clear path forward. Whether you're comparing programs, understanding your transfer credit evaluation, or figuring out what comes next, I'm here to help every step of the way.
I've worked in higher education at a variety of institutions, both large and small, and I enjoy helping students navigate the college process. Along with traditional transfer students, I work with students in our RN to BSN program and Bachelor of Liberal Studies program for adult learners completing their degrees. No matter where you're starting from, I'm happy to answer questions and help you find the information you need!

From maximizing transfer credits to providing dedicated advising, small class sizes, close faculty mentorship, and strong career preparation, UMW helps students make a smooth transition and stay on track toward graduation while becoming part of a welcoming and supportive community.
What's one thing more people should know about UMW?
One thing transfer students should know about UMW is that getting involved can start right away. Whether through student organizations or campus events, transfer students are encouraged to jump in and become part of the community from day one, making it easier to build connections and make the most of their college experience.
