    Seeing is believing. Get a look at what life is like on campus and off. You’ll find out about our academics, athletics, student life, and more. Throughout the day, you’ll have an opportunity to see classrooms, the fitness center, dining facilities, and a residence hall.

      We offer campus tours and info sessions Monday through Friday, plus tours on most Saturdays. On our tours, you’ll explore academic and student-centered buildings, residence halls, and get a real feel for life here. You’ll see a bit of everything — a campus that truly feels like home.       Explore Beyond Campus

      Our 234-acre campus is just the start — the Mary Washington community and Fredericksburg’s charm make the experience unforgettable. After your tour, explore historic streets, vibrant arts, and plenty of eats. Craving pizza, ice cream, or coffee? You’ll find local favorites like Mellow Mushroom, Benny’s, Blue Cow, and Carl’s Frozen Custard.

      End the day with a Fredericksburg Nationals game at FredNats Park for a true local vibe.

      Virtual First-Year Information Sessions

      Designed for high school seniors, this 30-minute online session gives you an inside look at starting your college journey at Mary Washington. Learn about academics, campus life, the application process, and important next steps for first-year students. Sessions are live, times vary, and you’ll have the chance to ask questions directly to admissions staff. It’s a convenient way to explore UMW and see how you can thrive here—no travel required.

Join the University of Mary Washington’s Financial Aid team as we walk you step-by-step through the process, from creating your FSA ID and completing the FAFSA to understanding your award letter and billing timeline. We’ll cover key topics like which parent’s information to use, dependent vs. independent status, and tax details. We'll also discuss merit awards, verification requirements, and more.       Whether you’ve already submitted your FAFSA or you’re planning to soon, join the University of Mary Washington’s Financial Aid team for an overview of what happens next in your financial aid journey.       Our admissions counselors are hitting the road to meet future Eagles like you!

      Look for Mary Washington at college fairs (including VACRAO and PACAC) and college nights.

      Stop by our table or join us online to learn about our vibrant community, get helpful resources, and ask your questions. Pre-registration isn’t required, but if you sign up ahead of time, we’ll make sure you start receiving UMW updates right away (if you aren’t already).
