Germanna Co-Enrollment and Direct Transfer Agreements

The University of Mary Washington and Germanna Community College have established a co-enrollment agreement and a direct transfer agreement.

Under the co-enrollment agreement, an eligible student may take up to five courses at UMW that will transfer back to the student’s associate degree program at Germanna. Co-enrolled students will be admitted to UMW after successfully earning associate degrees and meeting a minimum grade-point average (GPA) requirement. UMW will accept co-enrolled students’ transfer credit, up to 63 credit hours. Students will need to submit a letter of intent.

The direct transfer agreement allows eligible Germanna students to transfer to UMW’s bachelor of liberal studies (BLS) degree program. The BLS degree is designed for adults who want to major in a traditional arts and sciences discipline and who have either graduated from high school six or more years ago, are veterans or active-duty members of the U.S. armed services, are married, have legal dependents other than a spouse or are financially self-supporting.
