Students without prior coursework in foundation areas must complete appropriate classes toward the degree. Total number of credits needed to complete the MBA-MSMIS Dual Degree program ranges from 61 to 78, depending on the number of foundation courses required.
The duration of the dual degree program varies from student-to-student. The dual degree is comprised of 60 graduate credits (20 courses). Full-time graduate students usually take 9 credits per semester and 6 credits in the summer (averaging 24 credits in a year). At this rate, a student could complete two degrees in 2 1/2 years. However, most students also have foundation requirements which could add time. Part-time students average 3 credits every eight weeks (15 credits in a year). At this rate, a student would complete the two degrees in 4 years. Again, most students also have foundation requirements. Students are allowed 8 years to complete both degrees.
